The Virginia State Police Association will host the 2025 Lieutenant E.J. Kelly Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, September 8th, at the prestigious Piedmont Golf Club in Haymarket, VA. The tournament honors the brave men and women who have lost their lives in service to the Commonwealth of Virginia. Proceeds from the event go to benefit the Virginia State Police Association Emergency Relief Fund.

Edmund John “E.J.” Kelly was a highly decorated Virginia State Police Lieutenant who passed away in December 2018. He was a 23-year veteran of the force and was known for his dedication and service. He received the 2017 United States Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service and was named first runner-up for National Trooper of the Year in 2018. He served in various roles, including a position with the federal Drug Enforcement Agency.

The Virginia State Police Association hosts an annual memorial golf tournament in his honor to benefit the VSPA Emergency Relief Fund.
